it's not that simple actually , studio's get hooked with what they already use , software /plugins and the artists skills on certain program. blender is great actually , it just have a bad renderer (comparing to others) , an UGLY interface and a heavy learning curve. I guess ppl will move away to a cheaper alter. like Cinema 4D or Modo untill Autosek buys them of course

bas 3ala fekra , i think blender is already getting funding from somewhere ,it's been very active lately (more than normal)

3ala fekra ya Alaa, Blender gained a lot of momentum in the past period , delwa2ty fee designers (who doesn't aslan care about FOSS) use it , just for being a powerfull 3D program

the problem is it's acquiring programs in the same field , Ya3ni if you wanna work in 3D , you choose between Max, Maya and softimage XSI ... now all are done by one company .. it's not logical
